Why Vision & Leadership is owner-only

Why the Vision & Leadership section is visible only to you.

Written by Tim Lea

Short answer: Vision & Leadership is built as a founder-only reflective exercise, so it is locked to you by design and cannot be delegated or shared with your team.

Why is Vision & Leadership only visible to you?

Vision & Leadership is one of two sections in the portal (the other is Financials) that are permanently owner-only. It covers your personal reflections, things like your 12-month identity, purpose, lifestyle number, time allocation, and 3, 2, and 1-year goals. Because this is a private, founder-level exercise rather than a firm operating detail, it is never opened up to teammates.

This isn't a setting you toggle. The lock is enforced at the account level, checked against your specific owner role, not just an admin-level permission. That means the section stays private even if you later promote a teammate to a role with broad access elsewhere in the portal.

Who else can read it?

Nobody but you. From the delegate panel, Vision & Leadership never appears as an option you can hand to a teammate; the same is true for Financials.

Your teammates can still see that the section exists and roughly where it sits in your progress, its status and completion percentage show up on the dashboard alongside the other eight sections. It appears with a locked chip such as "Only you" so it's clear the content itself is off-limits. They cannot open it, read your answers, or see any of the fields inside it.

Note: This applies to your team only. VLV staff can view onboarding data solely through domain-gated, permission-checked admin tools, and every one of those look-ups is logged.

Tip: If you want a teammate's perspective on strategy or goals, that's a conversation to have directly. The portal doesn't include a way to leave notes or comments on any section for someone else to read.
