Short answer: Everyone on your team can see the status of all nine onboarding sections, but they can only open the content of sections the owner has specifically granted them, and two sections (Financials and Vision & Leadership) are always owner-only.
What every teammate sees
Every member of your firm, whether they have been granted any sections or not, sees the same dashboard: all nine sections, their current status, and their completion percentage.
For the two owner-only sections, teammates see the section listed with a locked chip such as "Never shared" or "Only you". They know the section exists and roughly how far along it is, but they cannot open it.
Note: Shared reference lists, like your Roles list and Document types list, are visible to any member. These are taxonomies used across the portal, not confidential content.
What counts as content, and who can open it
"Content" means the actual fields, answers, and files inside a section. A teammate can only open the content of a section once the owner delegates it to them from the delegate panel. Delegating always grants both viewing and editing together; there is no way to give someone a look without also giving them write access, or the reverse.
Two sections can never be delegated to anyone, under any circumstances:
Financials, owner-only, always
Vision & Leadership, owner-only, always
These are enforced at the permission layer, tied to the actual owner account, not a role you can assign.
Tip: Inside Your Team, base salary and discretionary pay figures for each employee are also owner-only, even though the rest of that section can be delegated.
Does VLV share our data outside the firm?
No. Onboarding data stays inside your firm's organisation. VLV staff can only view onboarding data through permission-checked, domain-gated internal tools, and every time a staff member drills into a firm's data it is logged. There is no feature that shares your data with other firms or outside parties.
Warning: Delegated access, once granted, does not clean up on its own. If a teammate's access needs to change, see How delegation and access actually work for what is and isn't possible today.
