Short answer: you've been asked to complete one or more sections of your firm's onboarding, and the first steps are a two-step welcome flow to confirm who you are before you get to work.
What am I being asked to do?
Someone at your firm, the owner, is using the onboarding portal to capture the shape of the business so it can be reviewed. Rather than doing all of it themselves, they've handed you one or more specific sections to complete. You won't see the whole portal wide open; you'll only be able to open and edit the content of the sections you were actually granted.
Everyone on the team can still see the status and completion percentage of all nine sections on the dashboard, including the two owner-only ones (Financials, and Vision & Leadership), but those two are shown locked, with a "Never shared" or "Only you" chip. You can't open their content.
Note: If you're not sure which sections are yours, check the dashboard first. Sections you can edit will be clearly open to you; anything else is locked.
What are the first steps after I accept?
Once you sign in with the exact email your invite was sent to, you'll land on a short, one-time welcome flow (DelegateWelcome) instead of the full setup wizard the owner sees. It's exactly two steps.
Confirm you. The first screen, "Welcome - is this you?", asks for your full name (first and last). Your email is shown but locked, since it's fixed to the account you signed in with. Select "Looks right - continue" once it's correct.
Answer the adviser question. The second screen asks "Are you an adviser?" with two options: "Yes, I see clients" or "No, I'm in a support role". If you choose yes, you're added to the team roster under the firm's Adviser role. If you already exist on the roster under that email, you won't be added twice. Choosing no simply means you'll go on to complete whatever sections were handed to you, without being added as an adviser.
Select "Enter portal" to finish. This may take a moment while your account is set up.
From there, you land on the dashboard and can open the sections that were shared with you. Everything you fill in saves automatically as you go, there's no separate save button.
Tip: This welcome flow only ever runs once. If you're invited to more sections later, you'll go straight to the dashboard without seeing it again.
Warning: There's currently no way to leave a note or question on a section for the owner from inside the portal. If you need clarification on what's being asked, reach out to them directly.
