Completing Systems & Tech

How to record the apps and software your firm uses.

Written by Tim Lea

Short answer: In Systems & Tech, you build your stack by category first, then fill in the detail table with each app's URL, purpose, users, and whether it's integrated.

What this section covers

Systems & Tech captures every app and piece of software your firm relies on, from practice management to communication tools. It has two stages.

How do I add our apps?

  1. Stage 1: build your stack. Work through the categories one at a time. For each category, either pick the system your firm uses or select "We don't use any" if it doesn't apply. You can't skip a category without making one of these two choices.

  2. Stage 2: add the details. For each system you picked, fill in the detail table:

    • System Name

    • System URL

    • System Purpose

    • System Role Users

    • System Integrated

Tip: Use the search field to find your app. It searches a combined vendor catalogue plus live logo lookup, so most common tools appear as you type.

If your app isn't listed, you can add it as a custom tool. Type the name and add it inline; it doesn't need to exist in the catalogue first.

What if a logo is missing?

The search combines a vendor catalogue with a logo lookup service, so most well-known apps show a logo automatically. If your app is niche, newly rebranded, or added as a custom tool, it may not have a logo yet. This doesn't stop you from adding the system. It just displays without a logo image; all the other fields still save normally.

What does integration mean?

System Integrated records whether that app is connected to your other systems, such as sharing data automatically rather than requiring manual entry between tools. Answer it for each system based on how your firm actually uses it today.

Note: Everything in this section autosaves as you go. There's no save button to look for.
