Completing Products & Services

How to describe your service packages in the Products & Services section.

Written by Tim Lea

Short answer: List each distinct service or package your firm sells as its own entry, with enough detail that someone outside the firm could understand what it includes, who it's for, and roughly what it costs.

What counts as a service vs a product?

In this section, "service" covers anything your firm offers to clients, whether it is delivered as advice, an ongoing engagement, or a packaged offering. You do not need to separate "products" and "services" into different lists. If your firm sells or delivers something distinct, with its own name, description, and pricing, add it as its own entry.

A good rule of thumb: if you would describe two offerings differently to a prospective client (different scope, different audience, or different price), they are two separate entries, not one.

How to add a service

  1. Open the Products and Services section from the dashboard.

  2. Select the option to add a new service entry.

  3. Fill in the fields for that entry:

    • Service Name

    • Service Description

    • Ideal Client

    • Pricing Model, choosing from Fixed Fee, Ongoing Fee, Retainer, % FUM, Hourly Rate, or Commission Only

    • Typical Fee

  4. Repeat for each additional service or package your firm offers.

There is also one shared upload slot on this section for Service brochures, if you have existing collateral you would like to attach.

How much detail do you want?

Enough that someone unfamiliar with your firm could tell what the service actually involves. For Service Description, write a few sentences covering what is delivered and how often, rather than just a name. For Ideal Client, describe the type of client the service suits (for example, by life stage, asset level, or need), not just "everyone."

Tip: If a service is delivered differently depending on the client's tier or complexity, it is usually clearer to list the common core service once and note the variations in the description, rather than creating a near-duplicate entry for every tier.

Note: Changes in this section save automatically as you type. There is no separate save button.
